Hi all, First time posting here. I'm looking for help in getting some history for an old Browning Belgian Medallion rifle. The rifle belonged to my father. I was always under the impression he bought it when he was about 25-30. The LGS can't come up with anything on the serial number and it doesn't seem to match anything I can find on line. My dad covered the exposed metal parts with Hoppes gun grease in the early 80s to store it. I cleaned it all off and applied gun oil for now. My major concern is salt wood. There was some rust around the rear sling lug. I removed the lug, cleaned it up, and reinstalled it. I removed the action and barrel from the stock and it was VERY clean. Only three small spots of rust/pitting near the bolt opening. I cleaned and oiled those for now. The serial number is stamped in to the barrel bed of the stock. Here are a few pictures of the barrel markings:

So, does anyone have any info about this?
Thanks!!
Mike
