Browning Maxus not cycling correctly

I have a Browning Maxus that I used all waterfowl season in 2011/2012 and it

worked great, had ZERO complaints. Always cycled correctly never had any

fails what so ever. I shot 3 1/2" Federal Black Cloud BB all season. Recently I

took it to the trap and skeet range to brush up on my shooting and it refused

to cycle a Winchester AA Sporting Clays trap load or various other brands I

tried. Shell won’t eject from the chamber and when it does the next shell

wont cycle from the magazine into the chamber, it just jams up underneath

the chamber. Just curious if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions on

what it could be. Possibly weak springs from shooting heavy loads all

waterfowl season? Any info would be much appreciated.

I believe the maxus is the newest version of the browning gold hunter...So I have to ask a stuid question. Did you strip it and clean it? I had a similar issue where the following season dove hunting there were issues cycling. I now religiously clean (to a sparkle) and lube after every day of heavy shooting.

Check the piston to see if the spring is broken, if not:

Tear it completely down, action spring out, shell stop out and magazine broke down. Scrub everything, I use carb cleaner or non-chlorinated brake cleaner and steel wool, soak the piston in Slip 2000 choke and piston cleaner, and lightly lube with clp, making sure to wipe any excess off and reassemble.

If that doesn't do it, call for a repair tag.
