Browning HP vs. (Insert gun of your choice)

How does the Browning HP stack-up against other 40's? Interested in learning more about them.

Thanks. :D

It *would* be nice if you could get a 10-rd .45 HP. But Mr. Rugerfreak is right.

Maybe a 10-rd .45 HP is a CZ 97B.

In 9m/m BHP vs. Sig 9m/m P228-

it's a draw. Pick your favorite, based on the desired action.
BHP is single action only; and the Sig P228 has a first shot
double action capeability. BHP has an exterior manual safety;
the P228 incorporates (3) passive saftey's. Fit and finish are
equal. Balance, well IMHO rest with the P228; but the BHP
isn't bad. Accuracy is a draw. Customer service, well Sig-
Sauer wins hand's down. So, take your pick; both are
really excellent firearm's.

.45 HP? Yes.

I've seen an FEG clone of the Browning HP in .45 caliber. Strange beast. Personally, I like the 1911 better than the HP because it is better balanced (more weight in the nose) and has a better trigger.

The .45 FEG isn't a clone of the Hi-Power... about the only thing it has in common with the Hi-Power are the double stack mag and the lock system. It is based on a S&W action. FEG just decided to use "High Power" to market it here in the U.S.

It is a strange beast and nothing like a real Browning/FN Hi-Power.

Didn't the Browning HP also come in .41AE. Yeah, remember those?

On second thought, the Browning also was made in .30 luger.

Had a matched pair of Glocks, 23 & 27. Sold them to get the Browning Hi-Power in .40 and I am quite happy that I did. I've also tried the Sig 2340 in .40 and while I would not hesitate to own one of those, I still prefer the HP. I also have a S&W 646 in .40, but that's a revolver, so we're into apples/oranges. I've yet to try a .40 that beats the HP.
