Browning Guns = JM Browning?

What is Browning, the firearms (and safe) company's relation with JM Browning? Is it his company, was it started by another Browning (no relation) or were they named 'in honor of' JMB?

How about FN, did he sell the patent to them?
 
Actually he was working for FN when he did the initial work on the HiPower (P-35). ALL HiPowers have been built by FN. In fact, the only handgun that I know of that Browning ever made was the BDM. All of the others where simply imported, labeled and marketed by Browning.
 
Yes, Buckmark is manufactured in Salt Lake City, Utah by A.T.I.

John Browning sold rights to his patents to many manufacturers. His designs built and marketed by others. Winchester, Remington, FN, Colt, Stevens etc.

Most High Powers were built by FN but some were made in Argentina under license.
