Will a Browning Gold 3.5" shotgun cyle 2.75" light loads:

-equally reliably, or
-less reliably

than a Browning Gold 3" shotgun?

Thanks!

It will be a little less reliable than a 3" gun. That said my 3.5" Gold would eat 1 ounce loads without a hitch. If you handload let me know and I can help you out with some light loads for the 3.5" guns. If you don't handload stick with 3 dram 1 1/8oz loads or heavier. If you find some 3 1/2 dram 1oz loads they will be fine too.

You are the man, HSmith - thanks a million. OK, I may be PMing you in the future. BTW, is there any shotgun company on earth that Beretta DOESN'T own?

Feel free to holler at me any time you have a question, I'll do my best to answer you or point you to someone that can answer you.

There has been a lot of ownership and management changes in the gun industry lately, I'm afraid I have completely lost track of what is going on.

Hey First,

My first Browning Gold didn't like to digest light loads. It swallowed and spit the big ones no problem. It was much more noticable on colder days. Unless you really need the 3 1/2's, which are fairly brutal on the shoulder, I would suggest the 3". If you are thinking Geese, and I always am, try a box of 3" Hevi-Shot..... I think you will be surprised!.....after you get over the price
