Browning dovetail question

I found some iron sights for my Belgian made BAR and had a question on the front sight dovetail:

Does it matter which side of the dovetail I install the sight blade from?
In other words, do I need to install from left, right or can it go in from either side?

With the front of the slide away from me I always go right to left.
From the right side of the slide to the left!
