I inherited a Browning Citori. I'm trying to figure out when this thing was born. the S/N is 73621 s7. I can't make heads nor tails out of Browning's website. Can someone please help me?

I think your gun is a superposed, built in 1967.

"From 1962 serial numbers were followed by the date of manufacture.
2S=12 gauge for the year 1962.
2V=20 gauge for the year 1962.
2F=28 gauge for the year 1962.
2J=.410 bore for the year 1962.
Example: 6556S2 = A 1962 Superposed 12 ga. shotgun with serial number 6556."

I think the above wording is somewhat confusing. Your serial number is "S7" which would mean 12 gauge, 1967 manufacture.

Thanks for your time to research this for me. This gun has both barrels in full choke. My uncle had this gun for years and was an avid dove hunter. It will be cherished and used as he would not it to be a safe queen. Again thank you for the information....

If it is a Superposed, it is NOT a Citori........the Superposed is one of the best over unders made with phenomenal hand struck barrels giving excellent balance.
One thing, however is ZERO steel shot, especially through those full chokes
Enjoy a great gun
