Browning Buckmark ammo preferences

By magnum I presume you mean high velocity. My year-old Buckmark will not reliably cycle with standard velocity long rifle. A lot of failures to eject or chamber a new round, which means the slide doesn't get far back enough to pick one up. It does require high velocity. I'm going to acquire another spring and then trim the old spring a little at a time to see whether I can get it to be reliable with standard velocity. Seems like it ought to be from the box.

High velocity amo works best. Just make sure the top strap has not worked loose. Seems Buckmarks come standard with screws that loosen within 50 rounds.

I use CCI Blazers, CCI MiniMags and PMC Zappers (I think that's the name and manufacturer). No cycling problems with any of those.

I haven't seen this yet.

My Buckmark has only 100 rounds through it, but the screws weren't looser for the wear. Regular velocity .22 LR did not reliably cycle.

Its amazing that .22 pistols are so ammo specific.

Remmington brass plated "golden bullet value pack" in the box of 525 for under $15 works extremely well in the two buckmarks I've owned/used. An extra drop of oil on each side of the slide can work wonders when it is starting to stick. Of course cleaning also works, but the oil is faster. :)

My Buckmark Camper wouldn't shoot anything but Mini-Mags until I cleaned and lubed it with CLP.

That Teflon lube/finish really worked wonders - it'll shoot anything now, except the filthy smelly unreliable Wolf .22 ammo. I wouldn't be adjusting springs until you try this.

My screws worked loose, too, so I use blue LockTite on them... no more problems.

Zanthope is right

I now lube my Buck Mark with Tuf-Glide dry lube. I put a _tiny_ bit of grease on the rails and places that show wear. Most fouling brushes off with a dry toothbrush.

Mine likes Stingers, Winchester super-X, power point and t-22, peters. Basically everything I've tried. High velocity loads work best for new pistol break in.

Regards,

Ledbetter.
