Browning Buck Mark Micro

I've been eyeing these lately as a nice companion for day hikes and squirrel hunting. I already have a stainless Ruger MkII bull barrel and it's really too heavy to carry comfortably for long.
My main concern is that the shorter sight radius might make for loose groups. Is it just a cute plinking toy? Anyone have an opinion or experience?

I have one of the Micros and mine is nicely accurate, though any shorter barrel model is generally more difficult to shoot as well as a longer barrel.

Together we are capable of ringing my 1.5" steel targets at 25 yards, so squirrels and rabbits are wary... :D

Good luck.

With ammo it likes,,,

My wife's nickle Micro runs right alongside my Ruger slabside all day long out to 50 yards with open sights.
Under 25 yards, it's no contest. It's micro all the way.

Browning Micro

The one I got is excellent. It seems to prefer CCI mini mags. The shorter barrel is very accurate. My wife has now claimed it. I got her the Buckmark rifle also.

I have to agree with the guys above. I have a Buckmark Micro Plus nickle SE and it`s a sweetheart! It`s more accurate than my 10/22,in my hands,at any range. The laminate grips were a bit chunky especially near the trigger so I had to recontour and refinish then but they`re beautiful looking. If you`re not up to that you may want to opt for the plastic grips. On the other hand either I just got lucky or the top of the line Buckmarks get a better trigger pull than regular ones because it`s outstanding on my gun and the one on my old Buckmark standard was good but not this good. Another vote for it. I shoot mine much better then the my MkII standard and I much prefer the grip angle. So much in fact that the Ruger has been relagated to "range guest gun". I only use the Ruger it when my wife steals my Buckmark.

MMMmmmm....I'm sold

I sold my S&W 2206 a month or so ago...and I really miss that .22lr fun...inexpensive shooting. I have been looking at a BuckMark Micro at my local gun store for a few months now...It's $279.00...I think I found my Christmas present to me:D

RH Factor,

$279 sounds high. You should be able to get the "Plus" Micro with wood laminate grips for that much. I've seen the standard Micro locally from $219 to $225. The only problem is that nobody has one in stock. Apparently they were a very popular Christmas item this year.
