Browning BPS barrel length

I'm considering buying a Browning BPS Shotgun. How much should I worry about barrel length? What are the pros/cons of different lengths?

I have had them in 26", 28", and 30". I liked the 30" the best, but there wasn't much difference in feel between them.

I have a 28" with a 3" chamber for sale, if you are interested email or PM me.

I like the 28" the best for all around work in the field and at the clay ranges. It might be "considered" short for trap, but I do as well with the 28" as I do my 32" BT-99

Sparky,
Contrary to popular belief among some, longer shotgun barrels do NOT give higher velocity NOR do they give tighter patterns. They do provide more weight out front which helps some people swing smoother. If you like muzzle heavy shotguns, go for longer barrel. If you like quicker swinging shotguns for faster reaction in getting on the bird, go for shorter barrel. I shoot 26" barrels in O/U's and they are lightning quick. The BPS receiver will add several extra inches over the O/U but my choice would be 26" or 28". Can't see any benefit to longer barrel unless you are shooting a lot of trap.

Good shooting and be safe.

Though relatively inexperienced, I find I like a 26" barrel to my liking. But that is mainly due to waterfowl hunting out of pits and turkey hunting. If used for other reasons, such as trap/skeet, I have limited experience. I personally just like the feel of the shorter barrel, and have never heard any negative performance over longer barrels.
