Browning BLR extraction problem

I am having extraction problems with my new Browning BLR takedown, 308 Win.

When I work the lever fast the empty casing often turns backwards and remains in the receiver thus jamming gun.

From the start this gun extracted and threw the empty casings only about 1-2 feet--depending on how fast you work the lever. Work it really fast and often have the above problem.

Anyone here experienced this problem?

I'd bet there's some machining junk inside, messing up the bolt/extractor.

Didja buy it online, or locally - where there might be a factory-authorized warranty repair person ?

.

Lever guns all have different "timing" which is how fast the lever can be operated. I've had BLR's that would drop the case if worked too slowly and Marlins that would hit you in the face if operated too fast. I guess they are all different.... Find the lever speed that performs best with YOUR gun and live happily ever after.....

never had that problem. Sounds like your ejector is not under full tension. If you are up to it, take it out and check the spring and its tunnel for crud, thickend oil/preservative, etc. If not, take it to a gunsmith. If the gun is still under warranty, send it back to Browning to get it fixed.

Also possible is a weak extractor spring/bad extractor, letting the case rim slip loose too soon.

If you aren't comfortable (and have the right tools), take the gun to a smith. Better to spend a few buck and have it done right than risk damage to your gun.

If its new, it should still be under warranty. Call Browning, describe the problem and see what they say, before you do anything else.
