Get the C&S hammer. That'll take care of the bit problem.

HP's bite my hand with the plastic stocks which come with the MkIII's, but don't bite with Spegel's, Hogue ( rubber or wood) or Pachmayr's.

Hello. I'm not sure what the combat hammer is, but IF you have the spur hammer, the solution for me was to bob the hammer at the second lateral serration, reshape, and blue.

Best.

If you're not comfortable with bobbing the hammer yourself, any of the smiths that specialize in the BHP can fix the bite problem for you very quickly and inexpensively. There's another thread here somewhere on good smiths for the BHP and any of them will do a good job for you.
