Browning BDM, a *new* question...

So, I'm out Pawn Shopping this morning and find a BDM, somewhere between 90-95%, in the box with book and two factory 15 round mags. I've never owned or shot one of these and thought I'd give it a try.

However, I'm a notorious buyer/seller and don't hesitate to sell a handgun if I don't find any redeeming features in it (I've owned over 100 different makes/models).

The dealer wouldn't budge off his price of $380 out the door, so what do y'all think? Could I get rid of it for that if I hate it?

I know the 15 round mags are pricey, but what about the pistol with one 10 round mag? BTW,
the same dealer also had an Italian made Beretta 92F, like new in the box, with two Italian made 15 round mags... Decisions, decisions, decisions...

The BDM is ok. I think one of the reasons it didn't sell was because the BHP is so good. The only thing I don't like about the BDM is that the grips are too thin. I want a bit more bulk in the grip. $380 seems a little high. More like $320. I would rather get a CZ75B.

Except that the 15 rd mags for this gun are literaly worth $125 apiece, due to their rarity. This of course also means that if you bought it, these would probably be the only two 15rd mags you would ever own for it.
My friend owns one. I thought it was great until I shot another 9mm, my CZ-75. The trigger pull is extremely long. Even in SA, there is a lot of take up before the break. There was a time when I wanted one, but I don't think I do any more. I saw them a couple years ago for $285 NIB, however that was with no 15rd mags.

I had 2 BDM's and returned both. What sold me was their narrow girth. I returned one because the trigger wouldn't reset. Got another one and the trigger wouldn't reset on that one either. After 2 lemons I gave up on the BDM. Also, don't know if this is true, but one gunsmith told me that he couldn't do much to smooth out the trigger. If that's true, then what you got out of the box is what you will have to live with.

9x19, you know that Leon Micheal's swears by that pistol. The mags are worth about $100 each, so you have $200 in mags. You can stick a 10 round in the gun to sell it and sell the gun for $275, that was the blowout price to dealers. As a result, if you don't like the pistol, you should at least be able to get your money back.

Jeff,

Thanks! I had about decided against trying it out, but maybe I'll go ahead and give it a go.

BTW, it's good to see you're still alive! :D
