Browning BDA(Sig P220): Shoot it and use it, or NOT?

I saw one of these for $400 at the last show. It was in nice shape with 3 mags. Trouble is, I have a nagging feeling that it is collectable, and would not be wise to shoot and/or lightly customize. I don't mind the Euro release, and the older style grips fit and point better for me. Am I wrong?

I remember when it was about the only other .45 pistol on the market (back in the '70s) and its DA feature make it unique. Unless I'm mistaken about it lacking any special quality, I'd shoot it.
