I have an extra 24" barrel for a Browning Sweet Sixteen. Made in Belgium and marked **SPECIAL STEEL-16 gauge- shell 2/34". The bore is clean but the exterior is pitted but clean. I've never seen a barrel tip like this one (see pix)Can anyone advise me as to significance and value?

It appears that once upon a time there was an external choke device attached. You can either figure out what it was and replace it, or get your friendly 'smith to remove it and replace with a new one or choke tubes. Goat

My first guess way a Lyman Cutts Compensator; but, IINM, with a Cutts, the bead sight isn't on the barrel adapter, it's farther forward.
