Somebody in the forum knows some Browning B25 Midas Sideplate equal to this (appreciate in www.armasfinas.blogs.sapo.pt and click in the 20 photos and fiche technique) ? nr. 13703S3 and engraved for E. Bernard ? Somebody knows of its history? I am grateful for any information on this beautiful shotgun.
Which could be its value of market?
Thanks
Luis

I do not know very much about these guns. The list in the back of the Blue Book says the S3 in the serial number was used in 1963. The chokes are full and modified.

I was going to guess a value of $8000 or $9000 until I started looking on line. Here is a generally similar, though later (1971) gun in 95% condition for $11,499. It has 32" barrels choked improved modified/full and a wide rib.

I am interested in learning what else you find out about this gun.

I also have much curiosity inasmuch as - it is a B25 Midas with Side Plate. If to analyze pricing 2006 in CUSTOM SHOP ( http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/custom/support/custom_retail_pricing_06.pdf ) of these shotguns, I verify that cheapest a Boxlock 1/2platinum is of $21.000 and the Side Plate between $37.000 and $69.000.

Of boxlock enters all the Midas engraving is valued (to the front of the Pigeon, Pointer and Diana) e if to this to add the fact of being a Side Plate, then I will say that shotgun of superior value to the actuais models in production will be one.

I go to continue to try to get more information on this shotgun and ask for your contribution and helps.

Okay, I've found the fine print in last year's Blue Book (26th Ed.) that lists the Custom Shop guns with sideplates. For instance, an F1 is $44,165. The gun you posted the link for is a Midas F2 and I don't see it mentioned.

The paragraph on the sideplated guns is immediately followed by the statement:

"Grade I Traditional, Pigeon Grade, Pointer Grade, Diana Grade and Midas Grade Superposed are listed separately."

The Midas D Grade is then listed with a suggested factory price of $25,082 and a 100% condition price of $20,000.

No wonder I'm confused...

"Browning, in 1985, resumed production of the Superposed in Pigeon, Pointer, Diana and Midas grades."

"In 2000, Browning changed the nomenclature of their B-25 shotgun Series."

The earlier section in the Browning listing has a 12 ga. Midas Grade Superposed listed at $8,000 in 100% condition.
