Browning B2000

I bought one of these at a gun show this weekend because it looked new and the price seemed low for a Browning (less than $400). Thought I could always throw it in the truck as a back-up for my Superposed. I don't know anyting about these, are they any good? Thanks for your input.

The Browning B2000 was a good gas operated shotgun. I bought mine back in 74 and just traded it off this year. Browning no longer has parts for them, but some outfit in Canada bought up there remaing stock.

I came across a web page the other day where they had new barrels for 70 to 80 dollars.

The only part I had fail was the firing pin. I put a ton of rounds through it as a hunting firearm, and shot a lot of skeet with it.

What gauge did you get?

Hey Bill,

Just thought I'd welcome you to TFl..

Nice to see another Carolina guy here.. Or maybe California?

Thanks for helping out - the 2000 is a new one on me..

Howdy Gizmo99,

It's South Carolina!!! Not Southern Kalifornia:D

Yep, The B2000 was a good firearm. I think they were taken out of production when the B-80 came on line.

It had been sitting in the vault for the last few years with out being used, so I did a little swapping around a couple of months ago. Almost wish I had not done that...

Thanks for the welcome:)

Thanks for the reply. It's a 12ga Mod (2 *'s on the barrel). It's certainly not a light weight but had pretty wood and looked like it hadn't been shot or handled very much. From my "handle" I guess you can figure out I was raised north of the border in North Carolina, but I was born and spent my first six years in Florence S.C. ;)

Well, I think you did OK... We will have to forgive ya for moving up to Yankee Country :D

I think 2 stars means it's a modified choke. Some body jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you wwill be happy with it.
