Browning A5 help ????

SOSARMS

I need some help from you A5 enthusiasts from long ago.....
I recently purchased an ooooooold A5 by FN manufacture with 4 digit s/n.
The gun is in very good condition, but the wood could use an upgrade to make it a very nice collector. The only problem is that it has a straight stock, not the pistol grip like all my other A5s.....any suggestions where i can get a good factory style replacement ???? HHHHelPPPPP.

Not a lot of old factory wood left for a straight-grip A5. I would reccommend going to the Battenfield Technologies home page and clicking on the Fajen section, or contact Great American Gunstocks in Yuba City, CA. If you are going to restore the piece, do it right.

For a collector piece, I believe that it may be better to stay with the original stock and have it refinished.

Regards,
John

A new stock would have to be made custom. I have seen only 2 straight A5 stocks offered for sale. I bought one and tried to buy the other. I have also made a couple out of necessity

In any event replacing the original stock would substantially hurt any collector interest from the few weird guys that covet straight stocked A5's (like me).

Tell me more about the gun.

Jeff
