Info on my ancient A5 that has a five digit serial number 631xx is vague. But it has the triggerguard safety. Would this help in determining the period of manufacture a little closer?
You're right in that information on the very early guns seems to be pretty much non-existent. I had a 5 digit serial # A5 and I never found much info on it beyond the brief blurb here:
Gascheck,
Eastmann states that all pre-war (WWII) had the safety in front of the trigger guard. I suppose that the safety was changed sometime after the War.
