Browning A-5 Barrel Replacement

I have a 1950 mfgd A-5 Light 12. I want to keep the original barrel, but also get a Belgian Made fixed choke modified as well as a newer Invector plus. I have heard that to put on a different barrel would require modification to the forearm. Has anyone else experienced this?

TIA.

Haven't had to do any thing to the forearm, but I did have, to have a smith modifiy the chamber end of the bbl a little to fit mine,

Barrel Replacement on Browning A-5

Thanks for the reply. After modifying the barrel, I assume you could still use the original barrel (didn't have to change the stock or receiver), and could interchange without any problems?

When my brother in law gave me his A5, it had a full choke 30 inch barrel. Its not rated for steel shot, so to shoot ducks now, I had to find a different barrel.
Browning told me that a replacement from them might need fitting. Hastings said their WadLock II barrel would fit right in. I bought the 26 inch Hastings, and have not been sorry.
