Browning-380 auto, hard to pull Slide

The slide on this auto is very hard to pull back. I have stoned the hammer
face and this helped some, I have assembled the gun without the recoil
spring and found the slide works freely without the hammer spring installed.
Is there a replacement spring that would help with this situation ?
or, Any suggestion ?

Before going to all the trouble of changing the gun, and maybe risking a loss of reliability, make sure you are using the best of techniques for racking the slide.
Most folks I see at the range don't, and struggle with their smaller autos.
Do a web search and youtube search on the subject to find out how.

There is probably noting the matter with your gun. I've shot my neighbors Browning and the slide is not easy to rack back. I have a Beretta that is essentially the same gun and it's a bit difficult too. It's just the design. Gwillikers advice is right on.

Thanks for the replies. Never thought about looking for a Youtube vid on
this subject, but now I can teach the young lady who owns this gun the
method shown on Youtube. perhaps it will make it easier for Her.
