I have over 800 rounds thru my 1911-380, most my cast bullet reloads. Accuracy is fine with cast and factory jacketed ammo. Jacketed ammo has been 100% but with cast bullets I get about 4% vertical smokestack jams feeding the 7th round in either of the 3 mags I have. Actually, the nose of the bullet is jammed against the lower edge of the barrel hood. I have two cast loads with different nose shapes, both do this. I have tried OAL's from .930 to .960 and tried higher and lower powder charges. Can someone help in identifying what is causing the problem and offer a solution ? BTW, really like the gun or it would have been gone by now.
