Browning 12 Gauge

I found a Belgium made Browning 12 guage today. The forehand grip and a small 1 inch crack. Other wise the gun was in good shape excpet for some wear on the stock. It did not have a vented rib. I was not able to determine the type of choke. The barrel appeared to be 28 inches. Can someone give me a general price range.

I have a sweet 16 and the 12 would be nice to add.

Vee,

This gun would have been made by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium. If its the old Auto 5, then it must be at least 40 years old but could be substantially older. I think ventilated ribs were added in the sixties.

Belgian made Brownings are prized outside of the USA as they are considered higher quality than US or Japanese made Brownings. If it is in good condition, buy it. Its not particularly valuable but would be a nice collectible and nice to have.

Beano,

Thank you for the info. Are there markings on the gun that indicates the choke?

Vee,

Not sure about the markings. At most gun stores you can buy, inexpensively, a choke guage which should indicate choke. If not a gunsmith or an experienced shooter should be able to tell.
