Brownells Teflon/Moly gun finish?

Has anybody tried this stuff or the Aluma-Hyde epoxy paint? Looks like it would be a nice way to refinish old pistols. I have tried Brownells baking lacquer on a old Marlin .22 in parkerizing gray but it looked kinda like a cheesy painted on finish then anything else. It does seem to be quite durable though. Just wondering if this other stuff was any better. Thanks in advance.

Boogalou, I use it often. I don't use the Aluma Hide as I've found that the baking lacquer gives a better finish. The teflon gives a much better finish. Things to remember: Always preheat the parts to 100deg or so. This allows the spray to dry on contact and prevents runs. Spray thin coats. Let the finish cure a few days before reassembly. George

George,

How durable is the teflon paint?

Can it be touched up after it gets dinged, or does it require fully stripping the piece and recoating?

Mike, when the finish is first out of the oven it's relatively soft and should be left alone for a few days but it doesn't seem to stop curing. We have an old H&R Topper that I tefloned about 5 years ago and I think it would take a nail and effort to scratch it.

I tried twice to send you that Beretta info and the e-mail bounced both times. Have you another address to send it to? George
