I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Brown Bear Ammo in 9mm. I have always been a little hessitant to try it in my pistole but that is about all I can find locally right now. Just thought I would see if any of you have had any luck with it.
Thanks,
Chad

The Russian ammo seems to have improved in the last few years IMHO. I use the Silver Bear .380 and 9x18 Mak in my guns all the time.

Its not bad ammo, I have shot it before in my 9mm and maybe even my 45. Not bad stuff, not real accurate either. Steel cased ammo is harder on certain parts than brass cased. I used to shoot it all the time until I had a chipped ejector in my 9mm

Thanks all, I think I will give it a try. It is hard to pass up right now at only $10.00 a box. I am going to be shooting it through a ruger p89 and the manual says that it is capable of handling military or steel cased rounds but I was still a little hesitant. Thanks again.

I've usually heard bad, but I never tried them. At the range I shoot at, they won't let people shoot them because they spark when hitting the back wall or on the pavement.

I also seen a total separation of the jacket before the guy was told not to shoot them anymore. The jacket ricoshade and went to to the back of a target and stuck there. Thank God that wasn't a person.

Good luck

I purcahsed 1000 rounds of Brown Bear and ran most of it through my cZ 75. Not a problem, just had to clean the chamber thoroughly after each range session. The second 1000 rounds I bought gave me nothing but problems. FTF every mag. Maybe just a bad lot, but have stayed away from it since.
