Broken Glock

I have a Glock 30 that I use as a carrygun, so I put a lot a rounds through it. Today as I was particing with carry ammo
it jammed for the first time and then the next shoot droped
about an inch from point of aim. So I stoped shooting and took it down after it was apart I saw the CRACK. Its a crack that runs from the barrel port to the spring port. The question I have is
will Glock warrenty the slid even if I was useing aftermarket parts
as in KKM barrel and spring(I don't have orignal barrel & spring).

HUH?

I can't quite picture what exactly you are talking about, but I'm pretty sure you are talking about structural failure of the slide. I'd just go ahead and ask Glock if they will warranty it. I am guessing that they will because it may have been a flaw in the metal and not something created by adding the aftermarket parts on the weapon.

Either way it only takes a couple minutes of your time to call the warranty department. I suspect that they will accept the slide and at the very least will want to examine it to see the true cause of the failure.

If the only part that failed was the slide Glock will probably replace it. If the failure was caused by an aftermarket part they will charge you for the repair.

I might be treading on a moral issue here...

But why not just send them the slide with a note saying "It's cracked". I believe (not sure, check it out) that you can send the slide alone regular shipping thus avoiding the firearms shipping (extortion) fees and the questions about your aftermarket parts entirely.

If the slide cracked because of the aftermarket barrel having Glock replace the slide won't solve the problem. They may ask that the barrel and recoil spring assembly be sent with the slide, so be upfront with them.

Not to add salt to the wound but the reason that all my semi-auto pistols stay stock is so that in the event they do choke, I am covered with the Manufacturer. My conscious would never let me lie. Not that I am not capable of lying but I don't need any encouragement.

What it sounds like you are describing may not be a crack. If it is a perfectly straight line that runs to the edge of one side of the striker channell, it has always been there, it's just a machining mark. What it sounds like to me is that the barrell, it being aftermarket, has not been fitted to the gun, and/or the recoil rod assembly is not seated properly in the slide. Either way, take it to a gunsmith that is familiar with the Glocks to check it out good for you. I may be way off base here as I cannot see the slide, and do not want you taking a chance in shooting it, even if it is just the barrell in need of fitting.
If you have the resources to post a pic, it would be helpful, but still, please go to a gunsmith.

Thanks alot for the input guys. I wish it was a straight line but its not. I dont have a camera that will work with my puter,so I can't show it to you. For the aftermarket parts thing. I've put over 2thousand rounds through the gun scince I put them in. (never a
jam intil the CRACK.) Side note I work in an parts inspec. shop ans know the diff. for a machine mark and a crack.

Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.

Well, I was hoping for the best. I know that in some of the Glocks, there is a machining mark that looks like a crack, I'm sorry to hear that this is not the case. Glock may surprise you in how helpful they will be, I wouldn't sell them short.
