Broken Front Sight on Single-Six.....

Don't ask how, Don't ask why. Just accept it. My front sight is no longer on my Birdshead .32 Mag Single -Six. Now, what to do about it.

By all appearances the sight blade appears to be pressed in to a slot on the barrel. Is it possible to insert a new one myself or does the gun need a trip back to Ruger?

Ok, now lets add the fact that I like the looks of the traditional non-adjustable sights on my Ruger but don't like the versatility of them. I would much prefer adjustable but dang it's such a pretty little gun I hate to ruin the looks. Seems to me that I've seen pics of single action guns with a gunsmith installed ADJUSTABLE rear sight and a traditional front sight. Does anyone have pictures and/or contact info for a smithy to get adjustable sights installed on my Single-Six?

If you really want exact preservation of appearance, send it to Ruger. If any refinishing is required, theirs will match the rest of the gun best. They may not even charge for it, though you will be out air freight. No FFL is required for a factory return (you can send it direct to them and they directly back to you), but they will take five or six weeks, so if there is anything else you want fixed, think it up first.

A friend of mine had a Redhawk that didn't group well. We sent it to Ruger with an accuracy complaint and it came back with the cylinders reamed and refinished. No charge. Shot great after that.
