Breakfree Collector

I didn't want to hijack another thread where this was mentioned. Has anybody had experience with Breakfree Collector Oil (not the CLP)? It is supposed to protect guns for up to five years and doesn't have to be cleaned off to shoot. I have some guns I rarely shoot and this seems like a good solution -- I currently go through my collection a couple of times a year using either CLP or Eezox. And yes, you can get to the point that this becomes a chore, rather than fun.

Never used it, but I like CLP just fine. I just went through my rifle collection, disassembled, cleaned, wiped down, then I bought a whole bunch of gun socks (silicone treated) and put each one in a gun sock before putting them back. Seems like it should keep 'em cleaner longer, of course here in NV we really have no humidity to speak of.

CLP

I use the collector CLP. It is more viscous (thick) than regular CLP. I use it on old guns (of which I have many) that don't get shot much. I usually finish a cleaning session with the CLP.

Typical example would be a cleaning with various chemicals (Hoppes, Ed's Red, misc, I NOW HAVE BALISTOL!.................) followed by CLP, Collector or otherwise.

Never found one cleaner I like, but CLP and Hoppes are up there. Note, the collector variety doesn't seem to come as a spray.. I think only Breakfree sells it.

Tony:)
