Whenever I fire cartridges that have fairly thin extended brass casing like Fioochi and Rio, the brass section expandes so much in the chamber that the gun's ejector cannot remove them from the bottom barrel of my 20 ga. Ruger Red Label shotgun, and they have to be removed with a pair of small mouth pliers.
My son's gun which is the same make and calibre, or my gun's top barrel does not have this problem. A close inspection has revealed that the problem cases measure approx. 1.5 thou of an inch more than normal. The easiest way of solving this problem would simply be not to use any such cartridges.
Unfortunately I have recently purchased a case of 500 of the Rio shots and would like to use them during the upcoming dove season.
How best can I solve this problem.
