Brass incident

Just had to wonder..... The other day I was shooting my AR indoor ...I am a lefty..... Brass hit the wall on the right side and then bounced off the left side and went right into my left hiking boot.
I was wearing cargo shorts and low socks in my boots.... Hot brass sat right on my ankle..... Sizzling....I had a full magazine and flicked the safety on before doing the macarana trying to get that hot hunk of metal out of my boot.

Any other brass dilemmas?.... Part of this whole shooting scene..

Let's hear some good ones.

Sent from my tricked out Synergy Evo!

when I was in the army firing my m16/a2 rifle from the back of a truck a round got wedged under my shirt(uniform) somehow but just above my protective vest(top of shoulder and on my neck). It takes a second or two before doing its thing...I still have the scar.

Had a 9 mm shell one time come out of the gun bounce off a tree over my head hit my boy in the noggon and come back and lay right between my glasses and eyebrow. gave me a nice little burn. Dang funny once my eye stopped waterin'

The little lady doesn't wear low cut tops to the range anymore... Looked like I gave her a hickey.:)

The cleavege was kinda distracting the other guys anyway

Went shooting one day and on the way home I stopped by the grocery store to get some deli stuff for dinner. As I collected my stuff and bent over to pick up my basket an empty case falls out of my shirt pocket and rolls across the floor. The place is pretty busy and everyone kind of looked at me as if I was a serial killer or something.

Was'nt enough brass deflectors once at the range shooting m16s, had a case get stuck under my helmet strap. Thought a bee had got me for a second. Left a pretty good burn!!!

Only got burned once so far...and it was just a .22LR! It ricocheted off the side wall and went down the back of my neck.

Now I did get an honest-to-God BRUISE from brass once. I was standing beside a friend firing a CETME and took the first brass right across the eyebrow. It felt like somebody had slapped me! That dang thing threw brass hard enough to dent a 2x4!

I went to an indoor range once that had the motors for the carriers directly above the shooting stations. I was firing away, and the brass from my XD was flying up onto the top of the motor casing and joining the rest that had accumulated there on the FLAT top over who knows how long. I fired the one that turned out to be the proverbial single snowflake, and so I got the avalanche! About 90 or so of them suddenly rained down directly onto my head. I think the RO almost ruptured himself laughing when he saw it...

357 Terms: Same here! Wife caught a hot .40 down the front of her shirt. Has refused to shoot any semi auto pistols ever since!

I had a case from an M16 bounce off of a divider and land behind my glasses on my right cheek. Left a burn that was visible for some time.

My wife too had hot brass land down the front of her shirt. No more cleavage at the range for her. I've had hot brass land down the back of my shirt, land on my glasses and I've also been pelted by brass from neighboring shooters.

None of those times have I been burned though... odd huh? The closest time to being burned was when I caught a .308Win brass ejected from a CETME that my friend was shooting. It was that or get hit in the face so I caught it (the thought to just swat it away actually never occurred in my mind at that time).

Even then I wasn't burnt.

in doing a good cheek weld on my AR-15 with a scope an ejected case bounced off my spotting scope and landed between the stock and the tip of my nose....., it took a split second to realize i was getting branded, that was about two months ago, got a little scar. maybe by this time next year it may fade away..., i hope !

I was watching a guy shoot a 1911 pattern in 50 AE. The empty bounced off the side of the lane partition and brained me in the forehead and left a welt.

I did have a 9mm case go down a shirt front at a match. Finished the run anyway and had a minor burn.
