Brass Bombers Gulf War Brass Cheaper. Why?

Because troops are still training in the US, and with civilian production coming back the price of yellow brass scrap has dropped.
Some guys are will wade through the government paperwork/wait to buy once fired brass, then sell the brass for virtually no profit.

You also have to consider there are 'Scrubs' that large producers reject for rehab/resize that gets sold for scrap that make their way back into the supply chain.
Some of us use a CNC case qualifier, if the machine gun blows out the case too much it's not going to recover from that, we scrap the case.
Kinked case necks, bent too badly, severely dented, etc get scrapped, and we cat tell you what happens to them once sold for scrap...

Reputable re-manufacturers won't sell the 'Scrubs', culls, damaged brass,
Some will at deep discounts.

Buyer Beware!

A few months ago I bought 1.000 pieces of 7.62 x 54 which was all WCC 10 and it has been excellent to work with, I also like that the price included shipping and they always include extra brass, my 1,000 was more like 1,100 give or take a few. I also liked that it was deprimed, swaged and cleaned. The brass was like fired in a machine gun as the cases were long but they have been resizing just fine. I liked that it was all WCC 10 also. I have dealt with them in the past and always been happy with what I got.

As to where it came from? Beats me, likely training in the US as I have never known of troops policing their brass in a war zone. In Vietnam we never gave it much thought. Anyhow as long as the brass is good stuff and the price is right I really don't care where it was fired.

War era brass is likely US Range training ammo, just like all surplus. I believe war time production at LC obviously increases production.
I do not believe any brass BB sells comes from anywhere different. I was just wondering why they sell it differently. LC is LC by my thinking. Of course, war time production may have been monumental and affected supply.
I have heard only good things about BB. I do not think these are their culls.

I just noticed Brass Bombers also is selling:

"308/7.62 - Cleaned - WRA 68 & RA 69 Only - 1,000 pieces $102 shipped"
These sound like height of Viet Nam War, "second source" Remington Arms and Winchester (Repeating Arms) production. And,

".308/7.62 - DAMAGED - 1,000 Pieces $94 Shipped (intended to be cut down for something else)"
The latter category is note worthy because they do remove these from the better categories. I am not about to buy them, though. I have heard of 7.62 being cut down and used for 45 ACP snake loads, and even regular 45 ACP (with neck turning).

Yeah, Brass Bombers. They have always done right by me. When I see 1,000 clean and deprimed I normally jump on them in 223 and 308. I like it when I can get all of a single headstamp. Last order I got 1,000 and they were all WCC 10 and good stuff. Plus they toss in a few extra.

Winters up here suck so I load a lot during the winters. Hell, the bike is in winter storage. Next summer I build the heated garage. :)
