I hate to be the one to talk about how I made off like a bandit this last weekend but here it is. I can hold it in no longer.
A friend told me of an estate and gun store auction nearby and I thought it was worth a look. I have been hankering for a 357 for a while so it was on my mind. Once I got there and saw what handguns were going for I decided my savings had found it's purpose in life (tuition and food is so optional).
Sunday I bid on a Colt MkIII 6 in 357 and got it for $250 near new with slight blueing wear off the left side of the barrel. A good deal if you ask me. Then later on I found a S&W Model 19-5 6 in 357 never fired and I bid on it. I left with that one also for $250. When I got home I looked at it and saw the bluing wasn't even worn off the inside of the barrel. When I realized I had a mint Model 19 I was excited to say the least. I still haven't shot it yet (school calls) but will find time soon to decide which one I like most.
I haven't blue booked either of them but I am satisfied that if they don't agree with me I can still make a nice turn around. Well that is my story of the decade and I am darn proud.
