I read a lengthy thread on BP substitutes here but it was mainly referring to rifle & SG usage. What do you like for revolver. I want to use BP but it's virtually impossible to get locally here. Local store has Triple 7 & Pyrodex. Thanks.

I was shooting triple 7, no ill effects, but I switched to Pyrodex P under recommendations from some of the good people on this and other forums. I was concerned with my brassers getting a little bit too hot of a load for their frames.

I've been shooting pyrodex p and pyrodex 30grn pellets. Had some issues with FTF last time at the range and had nipple problems as well. So now that nipples are fixed, I need to re shoot from this bottle of powder to see if it really is "wet". I have stayed away from 777 thus far because of it's reported hotter loads than pyrodex.

Thanks for all the help, here, today. My wife says they have only Pyrodex RS where she works which HH says is OK to try. Since this is a 36 cal, I may wait to see if they get any P in. Ended up getting the Pietta 1851 London tonite, BTW. Adios.

Some folks are downright allergic to sulfur compounds.
It can make them dangerously sick.
Anyhow, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
And using 777 avoids getting yelled at, when cleaning the guns in the attached garage.

Thanks, g.willikers, I do appreciate your concern. I'm fortunate in that my reloading/cleaning of ammo/firearms takes place in a separate building from the domicile. Shoot, I can't even do anything concerning smokeless in the house. Time will tell regarding the health effects of Pyrodex. I don't thinkl I have any allergies and am aware of the smell! Got a lb. of it today. We'll see how it goes. Mebbee I'll be one of those pencil-necks HH refers to..........haha.
