Is there any way to keep snow or rain from going down the barrel of a bp rifle and possibly getting to the powder?

I keep a roll of black electrical tape in my "possibles" bag and tape the barrel end off before every hunt, regardless of weather. It keeps all moisture and obstructions free of the barrel. Point of impact is not affected at all, try it at the range before you hunt and you can find out for yourself.

Wow, I have a case of yellow foam earplugs and I just checked and they are a perfect fit in the end of a .50 cal barrel! The brand is AOSafety from Cabelas.

I fasten a portion of a balloon tightly to the muzzle with a rubber band. The igniting powder gases blow out the balloon well before the projectile exits the barrel.
