hello all. I'm looking at a cheap rifle project and I don't think I can get much cheaper than a $100 dollar stock on a $100 bolt action where I can get 440 rounds of ammo for $80 bucks. so questions to follow.

has anyone used these stocks?
has it added any inherent accuracy to the rifle?
was it as simple as dropping the receiver in or were there fitting issues?

The thumbhole would be the same as other "finished" Boyds stocks. My Ruger "dropped in" except (as it states in Boyds) I did have to open up the barrel channel (small diameter) some because it was "jammed" in there. It DID go in but was WAY too tight. It was a simple thing to do also. They are great stocks. I'm having mine glass bedded at a gunsmith (I'm too old to mess with gooey glass) to make sure that area is "right". They also "freefloat" the barrel which I wanted to try. If you get one spend the extra $55 for the laser checkering! It makes the stock look factory!

See the post on bedding the Boyds or not bedding the Boyds I put up.
