Box Test - Shooting the Box

TheBoxOTruth.com is a site run by a guy who has a slotted box setup into which he fits layers of drywall and/or water jugs to do penetration and/or expansion tests.

He and his assistants on the website have also shot up the "BuickOTruth," and done some other tests.

Entertaining and informative site; it is worth a look.

...or...

Box testing a scope - Once a scope is zeroed; adjust up, right, down and then left an even number of minutes/MILs to ensure that a scope can return back to zero, thus shooting a "box". At 100 yards, 3 to 4 inches in all directions will thoroughly work the scope's innards. That's what I did anyway.

there was a procedure, where using a wood box..

that was set-up on a range to insure that a rifle was consistently held in-place, to determine group size. Think it was an british arms industry idea, some old gunsmith books may have information on it.
