What is the model called exactly? I know its not a newer one with accutrigger or detachable magazine so I'm confused as to why it doesnt have those features but is still stamped with .111? Any feedback is appreciated.

The savage series has retained their model numbers despite having changes made over the years. A model 10 from 20 years ago isn't identical to one made today but they're both still model 10's. If I remember correctly a 111 is a long, blued action in a synthetic stock.

The above poster is correct. It's just the older model of the 111's. The 3 digit models are long actions and the 2 digit model numbers are the short action rifles.

Almost. The older 111 had a wood stock. I'm not sure when the plastic stock was introduced, but they added a code at the end of the model number. My 111 GCNS has a wood stock (G), magazine (C), and no sights (NS)

AK - Adjustable Muzzle Brake
NS - No Sights
B - Laminate Stock
P - Police
BT - Laminated Thumbhole Stock
SS - Stainless Steel
C - Clip (Detachable Box Magazine)
T - Rimfire Peep Sights
F - Synthetic Stock
V - Heavy Varmint Barrel
G - Hardwood Stock
XP - Package Gun
H - Hinged Floorplate
Y - Youth model
L - Left hand
ML - Muzzleloader
SR - Suppressor Ready barrel (Threaded)
