Got the GP 100 in the 6in barrel and adjustable sights, stainless too:D . I got home and put 25 .38+p rounds through it. It shoots great! I love the mean look it has. Well, just had to tell everyone I bought my first revolver. I was saving up for a 1911 but decided to go ahead and buy the Ruger.

Payne,

Glad your happy. But we need a pic or 2.

I'm thinking of doing the same. I was planning on getting a 1911, but the prices are scary. I can't afford that right now for the holidays.

Then I was reading a post on Auto V. Revolver.... For my first gun I too am getting a wheel gun.. but which one....hmmm:rolleyes:

I joined the brotherhood of wheelies a few months ago with a 4" SS GP100. I love sending a hot .357 downrange when standing next to auto handgunner.

The GP is about as simple as it comes when you disassemble it. The trigger really smooths out with dry firing.

It may not be the perfect CCW handgun, but it does almost everything else I could ask it to. Great Choice!

I really need to figure out how to put the pics on here but still haven't yet. Heck, I guess it would help to get a scanner or, digital camera

It probably looks like this...:p

Nice choice! Here's mine....love it!

Excellent shooter. I own the blue six inch model with the full lug. I bought mine two years ago and have put several hundred round through it. I've dry-fired it probably a couple thousand times and I have found that the action does smooth up. I even like the factory grips. I tried replacing them with Houges and I've returned to the original grips. Good choice.

I have one too, Payne, though mine is in blued steel. You are quite correct, it is an EXCELLENT shooter, and it has enough weight to it that .357s are not punishing to shoot. What is more, the grips Ruger puts on it are actually serviceable, so you don't have to buy after-market ones.

Yep, mine is like yours mosttoys. Except the front sight isn't yellow. It's black. I thought about doing something to help the front sight stand out so it'd be easier to see against darker targets. Thought maybe a white out pen and putting a little streak along the back, top of the sight. Think that would work? If not I could just scratch it off.

Yes it'll work fine. I have the exact gun, a few years older, and used the old 'fingernail polish on the front site' trick to help my father out. I've tried white out pen, model paint, and some of the neon-like nail polish with good results. The front sites are easy enough to chage, but I only need something for dad when he comes over.

Good luck and enjoy the gun,
JRLaws
