I couldn't decide between a glock 19 gen 4 and a Springfield XD. The decision was made for me when I couldn't locate the XD in any of the local stores. Im taking the Glock to range saturday:), but Im a little concerned about the spring / ejector issues i've been reading about. It SEEMS these issues have been resolved on the Gen 4s. Should I expect to have any issues at this point? Thanks.

Congratulations.

At this point I wouldn't worry about what someone else wrote about their pistol. Your pistol is probably fine.

Be careful and enjoy yourself.

With the internet, you won't hear about the thousands that work perfectly but you will hear about the very few that malfunctioned. Enjoy

You won't have any issues; believe it or not, the interweb tends to exaggerate things. Clean it, lube it, go shoot it and enjoy.

I'm on my second Glock....a 27 .40. I have fired approx. 800 rounds through her. Not one jam/misfire/ejection issue....not even one. I also know a few guys who have also shot many a round with their Glocks.....extremely reliable weapons.

Got my new Gen4 G19 two weeks ago and shot it last Sunday. Right out of the box had zero problems and it shot everything I put in it. Looks like Glock got the bugs worked out of the Gen 4's. I still prefer my Gen 3 but the Gen 4 is definately a good gun. I bought the Gen 4 because I didn't have one. Do we need any other reason?

So how did it do?

You already paid for it, so it only matters if YOUR pistol had a problem. I agree with you that the problems seem to be decreasing, but that is only judging by the talk traffic on forums like this. I bet I'm not the only one that is interested to hear your results.

I joke that I liked my G19 so much that I gave it away, but it's the honest truth. Mine worked so well and ran so reliably that when my father was looking for a trustworthy semi-automatic to carry, I gave him mine. I have other guns, and I like knowing that he has one that's been tried and tested.
