Bought a slightly used Series 70 Colt 45, and I have a question....

Lightsped

I bought a slightly used Colt 45 Series 70 Government 45 tonight from my cousin. I got it for 475.00. The gun includes 3 Colt mags, a Bianchi mag holder, and the original wooden Colt handles. Currently the gun has Colt rubber wraparound grips. The gun has been used very little. Maybe 200 or so rounds?

Anyways, I am curious as to when this gun was produced? The serial number is 263xxG70.

Also, did I get a pretty good deal or not?

Lightsped....

you know what you have and you are just screwing with us. LOL That was/is a good deal.

Come visit the 1911Forum for information on the pistol.

The last show I went to had several Series 70's in excellent condition for $750 and up. Be sure to change out the collet barrel bushing (one of the prongs can break) for a solid bushing (about $10).
