And what a fine weapon it is!

After owning and becoming proficient with both a Glock 21 and a USP9C for 4 years, I'm now a Sig convert. Not that the Glock and HK aren't excellent weapons in their own right, but the Sig is just perfect for me. Great grip feel, telepathic accuracy, and such a smooth trigger!

Anyone else out there shot for a long time and then finally found the perfect handgun for them? If you did, what type is it?

The 228 was the second weapon I bought. The first was a 226. Many weapons later I have converted to the 1911. Nothing quite like the trigger on a .45 cal 1911. It makes that euro stuff pale in comparison.

Perfect Handgun?

For me, it's the Sig P220 in .45 ACP; followed closely by the
Sig P228. Congrat's on your purchase of a P228.:D You will
find that it is one of the most perfectly balanced 9m/m's on
the market. And it should offer many year's of fine
shooting.:)

Does your P228 have the German proof mark's, underneath
the barrel and towards the front? My P228 was "proofed"
in 1990, according to the proof mark's on my weapon. It
is my understanding that today the P228's are still made
in Germany; but are assembled at the SigArms plant in
Exeter, New Hampshire. I do not know if that is correct
information, as I've not been able to confirm this theory?
Just relaying information that was posted by another
TFL member. Anyway, enjoy your P228.

I know how you feel about your SIG. I love my 228. Nicest out of the box trigger I have ever fired, no kick, accurate, and dependable.

Yep, I've fired almost every gun out there (rent binges lol) and nothing fits my hand like my sig 226. The 1911's are a close second with beretta 92's not short behind.
