Hey guys i bought a Ruger P-95 today! I bought it on a whim really,it was just sitting there begging for a home. It's the stainless steel model. It cost me $240 out the door. Is this good? It is used but like brand new. It gave me an excuse to buy a 9mm as i don't have one. I do now! What do you guys think of these guns? I have heard all good stuff about rugers and that helped in my decision to buy it. Will P-89 hi cap mags work in this gun? Do they fit flush? How much are factory Ruger P-89 hi caps asuming they work in this gun. Thanks,45 automan

45automan,

If its like new then you saved yourself some money, which is always good.

I got the P97 and love it. I can't remember about the 9mm but I know one or more models of the P-Series have interchangable mags.

Congrats,

Shok

We love our P95, you got a decent deal. The hi-caps for late model P89s and P93/94 will fit. I gave $21 each for two stainless USA Mag hi-caps recently. Shop around, because I saw some priced much higher.

124 grain Speer Gold Dots are a good defensive round for this gun.

Good choice!!!!!
P89 mags do indeed fit in the P95.
They do fit flush. They are about $50.
My P95 is what I qualified for my CCW with.
The weapon is capable of putting all 15 into a quarter size hole at 15yrds.
It will digest anything that you feed it, and go bang when you want it to.

45automan; Great pistol. Durable, fairly lightweight, very reliable. Hurry and get some hi-caps while they are still around. I'd stay with factory or Mec-gar. Let me see if I can get this right- P-85,P-89,P-91,P-94,P-93,P-95 all take the same mags. If you're not happy with the grip (some are, some aren't) a Hogue Hand-All fits real nice. Good Luck, J. I,ve had one about three years I have SIG,s and Glocks picked the P95 because it felt like a Sig 228 in the hand I replaced the rear sight with a Novak lowmount and the mainspring with a colt 45 19 pound to give the trigger a better feel...however when they came out I think it was guns and ammo tested the P 95 with 20,000 rounds of +P+ with no noticeable wear to the weapon..now even though I have and shoot SIG,s and Glocks WHY ? wear out your CADI. on the race track when you can practice with a CHEVY?Hope this helps, you got a good weapon for a fair price ENJOY!! ;)

excellent choice! I have boht the 95 and the 97 and they are probably the best buy for the money. They eat ALL ammo and is pretty accurate for the most part. You got a real deal on it too. Congratulations, now take it to the range!
