Bought a Winchester 1300 Universal Hunter in Mossy Oak Break-Up yesterday. Was $299.99 on sale from $359.99. I knew once deer shotgun season got close I'd find a turkey gun on sale. Anyway, shoots great and I love the speed pump. The best way to describe it is it feels like someone is pushing against the forearm as soon as you shoot, and it instantly makes you cycle the action with extreme ease. Anyway, couldn't pass it up and the camo should hide it from those see everything turkey eyes. Just wanted to brag lol. Later

Congrats

:) I've always liked the 1300's. They just seem to work so effortlessly. It should give you years of good use.

I hope so. This is the first 1300 I've owned but I've heard good things about them. The alloy receiver is very light compared to the 870's I own so I hope it will stand the test of time. My dad has a Ranger 140 semi and has had it for about 15 years and it still does it's job. So hopefully the stuff they're using now will give me a gun I can have fond memories of.

aluminum

Many auto and pump guns have aluminum receivers nowadays. My 390 has digested several thousand rounds without any ill effect. I'm not sure what a steady diet of mags would do but the vast majority of shotgunners needn't worry. My step dad has an old 1400 in 20 ga. that just keeps on going. I'm looking myself at getting a youth model 1300/20 for my rapidly growing sons and wife (not rapidly growing:p ) here in the next little while. A family that shoots together stays together.
