Found a Blued model 15 DW today by complete accident! got it on trade it has the 8" barrel with full underlug the foam packaging and the wrench. there are a few spots of rust on the shroud but other then that it looks great! Thinking about getting a 6" Full lug shroud and barrel for it. got it for 371 OTD now i just have to wait 48 hours... :(

Nice, I have a model 14 with a 4" barrel, and a stainless model 15 with 6" barrel. I love them both! Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, you'll probably be surprised how accurate they are. IMO Dan Wesson's are under the radar bargains.

I've been searching for a model 15 for sometime. Couldn't ever find one under 500-700 bucks around here... that was just for the gun no tools* or box (I'm not sure if this one has the barrel gap measuring tool) Also what sizes are the 3 allen wrenches that come with it?

So to me it felt like a steal, feel free to inform me otherwise... not sure how much they should be going for. :o The SA trigger is great, but the DA was disappointing. A lot heavier then I expected.

From my 6" 15-2's kit.

There are 3 on the barrel nut wrench & one separate.
5/64" (fits rear sight elevation & sideplate screw behind cylinder), also duplicated in a single in a screwdriver-type handle.
5/32" (for factory grip screw),
0.050" fits front sight retaining screw in front of BBL shroud.

If you don't have the spacing feeler gauge you can use a 0.005" one from a standard set from the auto parts store. Just do as I do & check the 0.005" is set on the tightest chamber.

I think I hate you. :D

Great gun and you will get every dollars worth of enjoyment out of it if this particular gun is as good as my old Model 15. While you are getting the 6" unit think about a 4" barrel for carry use. I find my 4" to be as bit as accurate as the 6" version and a lot easier to holster carry when I'm working or driving.

Check out EWK's PPC-style shroud/barrel sets. His barrels are 1:12 twist; ideal for heavier bullets. My M15-2 was superbly accurate using the Lyman #358429 173gr SWC.

The stainless steel barrels fit nicely on the blued frame guns. And that vent shroud makes a nice base for a scope or red dot sight, and you don't have to worry about drilling into the barrel.

Hello all,
I sure like mine with attachments:D

By attachments I mean all the stuff you can do with them.

Happy shooting

I just emailed EWK their super Heavy shroud is out of stock... I really really want one.

P.S. In other related Dan Wesson news I shot my Valor today at the range. :D:D:D:D:D Love it. thing was flawless.

Good news and bad news...

Bad News first. Upon a good cleaning the bore near the end of the barrel its a bit rough... dirty carbon can hide alot. I'll see how accurate it is with the current barrel... can't see any harm in using it. I bought the gun mostly for the action I never planned on keeping the 8 incher on there. I'll be getting a 8" replacement from EWK though. I am curious on how well the gun will group.

Good News: It has replaceable barrels! :D:D:D I would've been crushed if it was any other revolver. like ever.
Everything else looks quite good so far, besides the barrel.

I'll get pictures of the bore and the entire gun soon.

does anyone know the standard DW rifling twist? will EWKs twist make shooting lighter .38s a problem?

Now I'm kinda debating weather or not to go full PPC and attach an aristocrat rib
