Bought a Beretta Neo . . .

Shooters:
At gun show yesterday and bought a Beretta Neo. Everytime I've seen one I've like it so I went ahead and popped for this one. Got it for $305 out the door, meaning that taxes and transfer fees were included. That's a decent amount less than the MSRP. It has the longer barrel(six inches). I wouldn't have popped for the four inch. So anyway it may become a squirrel hunting gun if the accuracy is good enough. We'll see. Would love to hear about your experience with the Neo.

I have a six-inch Neos, too. Very fun pistol. Accuracy quite good. Pretty close to zero recoil shooting .22LR out of a fairly heavy pistol. The small grip is very good for youth, women, and others with small hands, yet it is oddly comfortable for folks with bigger mitts, too. Mine eats all the cheap ammo without a hiccup.

The weakest part of the pistol, IMO, is the sights. The integrated rail makes it a two-minute job to mount your choice of optics and solve that problem. Mine wears an inexpensive red dot tube.

Folks who, like you and me, can get past its odd styling, wind up with an inexpensive, accurate, reliable pistol that is just a heap of fun for plinking.

Its a Neos. Its a good entry level pistol with a poor trigger. One of the very few 22 striker fired pistols. I have several, and they are reliable, and well made. Best factory magazine in the common 22 pistols. I also have a Neos Carbine Kit. Turns the pistol into a carbine in seconds. Great option. Pricey, but fun.

I luvs me some NEOS pistols,,,

I own three NEOS pistols,,,
One in 4.5", one in 6", and one configured as the carbine.

I second everything that's been said so far,,,
Mine are accurate, reliable, and stylish.
But the plastic front sight is dismal.

Try one of these,,,
I bought two for the handguns,,,
They have made a significant improvement in my accuracy.

I almost bought a NEOS today for $269.99. However, I also had the choice of a Ruger Mark III 22/45 target model for $299.99. I felt the sights were better on the Ruger and it felt more solid in my hand and seemed to fit me better. I spent the extra $30 and bought the Ruger. My son-in-law has had one for years and highly recommended it but he said I couldn't go wrong with either. The LGS also recommended the Ruger.

My wife has one. I hate it. I hate the grip angle. I hate the skinny little cheap feeling plastic grip. I hate the trigger. She loves it. Loves it more than her Buckmark. She's probably shot it more than all of her other guns combined. And I can't deny, in her hands, it's pretty accurate. I hate it.

I started out with a Neos, could never quite like it. Moved up to a Ruger 22/45, that lasted a little longer, actually still have it but it pretty much lives in the safe, guess I should start looking for a new home for it. Then I picked up a Buckmark Hunter, now that is a great .22 target pistol.

The Beretta NEOS, Ruger 10/22, S&W 22A, Ruger Mk-II/III, and Browning Buckmark are all in the same basic category of pistol,,,
SA only plinking/target/hunting pistols.

I own one of every one and like them all,,,
The S&W is my least favorite of the five guns,,,
The Ruger guns have a better out of the box trigger,,,
And the Buckmark seems to be the all-around best from the box.

But for some reason the Berettas remain my personal favorites of the group,,,
I run into a wall of personal proficiency long before the gun's performance
hampers me.

Maybe it's because of their slender grip and sleek styling,,,
But I always seem to reach for a NEOS first.

They just make me smile.
