I bought a ak-47 awhile back and at the time i was like YES im gettin a ak-47 so i really didnt notice it but when the clip is in the gun its all loose and stuff that cant be right can it and the release/lock for the clip you have to move it to lock shouldnt it have like a spring in it to force it to always be in lock position?
 
There could be a few things going on. What make is the rifle exactly?

Some are only single stack magazines but most are either factory made or retrofitted for double-stack. So it's a mag well issue or a mag issue. It is an AK mag, right? Or is it something else? Lol. Someone may have botched a magazine-well job or welded shims in wrong.

Yea, the mag catch is supposed to have a spring (rather strong one) in there. Perhaps it is broken or as I said, maybe you have a goofy mag.
