The sad truth is that I don’t know who is on our side these days and who isn’t. We only find out about turncoats and back stabbers after they have done their sneaky, dastardly deeds.
Quite frankly, I hate to say it but I’m not even sure about the NRA these days, but I’ll save that for another post.
There is no doubt in my mind that Bill Ruger is just as guilty as S&W when it comes to trampling our 2nd amendment rights. The writers can sugar coat it any way they want to, but the fact is Old Bill sold us out. That may very well have started the ball rolling and now selling out gun owners seems to be the fashionable thing to do.
I do not own a Ruger. I’ve owned three of them in the past, but in my opinion, they are not very good guns. It’s not my intent to start a gun bashing post here, but speaking from personal experience, the only thing his handguns have going for them are that they are rugged. The Ruger rifles I’ve shot haven’t been any better. The 10/22 I had was such a piece of crap, I smashed it to ensure it wasn’t usable and threw it away in the trash. I have NEVER done anything like that before but I was pretty hot that day because I had just found out about Ruger’s betrayal with the high capacity mags. I’ll never own another. . .even a used one.
That’s what I think of Ruger. Of course once again, that’s only MY opinion.
I like S&W revolvers and intend to keep the ones I have. They are fine guns. . .bought back when S&W was still an honorable concern.
However, I’ll not buy a new one or anything else with the S&W name on it. They deserve to go under and they surely will. Maybe my S&W revolvers will be worth more after S&W goes belly up.
I wasn’t aware of Colt selling us out except for saying they were in favor of a national registration or something like that. I don’t recall.
I no longer their product because I had such a bad experience with what they joking refer to as their “repair service”. I’m tired of poor service and have made a policy of avoiding companies who provide it.
In short, I no longer do business with S&W, Colt, and Ruger for various personal reasons. Mainly because I‘m tired of supporting these people only to have them turn on us and stab us in the back the first chance they get. At least some of the other gun manufacturers told the government where to stick their agreement. Those are the companies I’ll buy from should I feel the need for a new gun.
The bottom line is, I’m afraid I can’t answer your question. I can’t tell who is on our side these days.
Unfortunate but true.
