Bore Snake

I too was sceptical, but am totally converted. If you think about it, that fat floss part is like 300 patches to clean gunk, way more than I'll ever use, and I like cleaning.

I put some solvent on the brush part and soak the last 3" or so of the tail in break free.

I posted a thread on AR15.com asking for negative feedback, never got any. I bought some for everything I own.

I have three and think they are great. My primary uses are for a quick clean before leaving the range (to remove barrel gunk buildup)and as a final wipe after a thorough cleaning (to remove oil). The first snake stays in my range bag and the other stays on my work bench. One is obviously cleaner than the other, but they can be washed.

Will a bore snake replace standard cleaning. NO, but running one through 2 or 3 times before leaving the range will make thorough cleaning much easier.

You BET, I think they are GREAT!!!!I still use brush, and patches!& CLP .But for a range use, and quick go-over.You can't beat it!

Well sounds like I need to buy some.

Thanks.
