Bore Sighting?

Hello, With all the gadgets and gizmo's out there, do any of you guys still bore sight the way the first breech-loaders were?...by eye-balling thru bore at target?
 
Most of the time when I'm hunting just to check my zero after a bumpy ride in the truck or in the field. If I'm at home use my bore sighter.

Looking down the bore works on bolt guns. How about a Garand, M1A, M1 Carbine, etc? I advocate owning a Bushnell Collimator and the new in chamber lasers for handguns. Both saves tons of money and headaches.

When applicable and as a primary check and then I go on from there with one of my collimators. I also eye-ball for cant or clocking but again, it's only in the primary checks. Eye-balling certainly has it's limitations.

I started out doing that until the laser cartridge bore site came along. But its always a good back-up to use.
 
I used to look down bores all the time if I could with the gun I wanted to sight in. It always got me reasonably close.
A few years ago, I bought a laserlyte bore sighter at a gun show for around $50. This thing has yet to fail to get me on paper everytime at 100 yards. I even used it on pistols.
I found the best way to use mine is at dusk when I can see the beam real well and adjust scope into the dot.
