Books on long range shooting?

Have recently picked up a Remington PSS and intend to develop the skill to use it at long range. I have been an avid firearms enthusiast for years but have little experience with scopes and the more precise skills needed for really long range work. I have read (and continue to read) The ultimate Sniper and am ordering Coopers Art of the Rifle. Are there other books you guys can recommend to help?

Thanks Alex

From Precision Shooting magazine, there's...

Precision Shooting at 1,000 Yards. A book written by the writers of Precision Shooting including topics on history of long range shooting, varmint shooting at 1,000 yards, evolution of military sniping (by the Chandler Bros), 1,000 yard optics, reloading for 1,000 yard shooting, etc. Edited by Dave Brennan, it retails for $34.95 (plus $3.50 p&p) from Precision Shooting. 222 McKee St, Manchester, CT, 06040.

Gary, have you read it yet? I was considering it, but would like to get a review before ordering.

"The Ultimate Sniper" by John Plaster is good, plenty of tables etc. Also, Precision Shooting has another book:
"Complete Guide to Highpower Shooting" by Ralph Constantine.
Although it doesn't get into scopes, it's an excellent textbook for position, sling use, reading the wind (very important!), trigger control etc.

Hi Matrix,

Haven't read Precision Shooting at 1,000 yards yet. It's on the shelf and I've just finished A War to be Won and have gotten into Rebels and Redcoats. I'll get to it sometime this spring.

Gary
